Many network support service experts choose export as OVA when backing up virtual machines. In some cases, when compiling an OVA file, experts encounter an Failed to deploy OVF package: The task was canceled by a user. Here's how to fix this error.
When backing up virtual machines in VSphere Client software, the selected machine can be exported in both OVF and OVA formats. The difference between these two formats is that in OVF a folder is exported from the export machine files but in the OVA format it is exported as a single file.
If you edit the OVA file, as the SHA intended for VSphere changes, you will encounter an Integrity Error error while diploing. So first extract the OVA file and then edit.
The content of the OVA file is the same as the three main files in the OVF format. We first extract the OVA file with software such as 7-Zip. We can now edit the contents of this file. First we delete the .mf file. Then open the .ovf file with an editor like Notepad. Now find the following line in the file:
Replace the top line with the following:
Save the file and retry. You will see that Error will be fixed with this edit.
To prevent this error, right-click on the virtual machine and select Edit Setting before exporting it. Click on the CD-DVD drive option in the Device Type section on the Client Device as shown below.
