  • In order not to put too much pressure on the main server of the veeam software and be part of one step of upgrading to other servers (proxy servers), second or third servers can be designated as proxies to push And remove the overload from the main server.
  • To do this, we load the software on the second server and install the Veeam Backup and Replication Console item .

  • Log into the main server and veeam software.
  • Go to the Backup Infrastructure section .
  • From the Managed servers section , click Microsoft Windows .
  • Right-click and select Add Server .
  • Enter the IP address of the second server with a good explanation.
  • Specify the server access from the Credentials section .
  • And finally Finish.
  • Note : Windows Destination must have a veeam backup and replicationprogram console installed.


  • Log into the main server and veeam software.
  • Go to the Backup Infrastructure section .
  • Click the Backup Proxies item .
  • Right-click, right-click.
  • If you want to back up ESXi servers. Select the Add VMware Backup Proxyoption.
  • If you want to back up Hyper-V servers. Select the Add Hyper-V Off-Host Backup Proxy option.

VMware Backup Proxy settings :

  • Select the Transport mode item on Automatic selection to select the best solution.
  • Select the Connected datastore item on Automatic selection to select the best solution.
  • The Max concurrent task item is automatically adjusted based on server resources. If you increase this item, the server may be pushed.

Hyper-V Off-Host Backup Proxy Settings :

  • It is similar to VMware settings except that the Transport mode item does not exist.
