In the past training of Veeam Backup and Replication, we said that Job should be created to provide Backup . Because knowing the success of Backup Job execution is very important in the organization, you might want to email them the correct implementation or failure report. This tutorial will examine how email notifications are configured.
Email Settings or Email Notification in Veeam Backup and Replication
First, open the main menu on the top left and click on General Options.
Water E-Mail Notification – 1From the E-mail Settings tab, enable Enable e-mail notifications. Enter the SMTP Server address in the relevant field. This address can be either IP or FQDN. Click the Advanced button and in the Advanced SMTP options window, specify the SMTP Server port number and, if desired, set the Timeout value.
If your SMTP server uses SSL, also enable Connect using SSL. You also need a username and password with an appropriate access to send it via SMTP Server. So if the proper username and password in the Credential Manager is not related to the Veeam Backup and Replication software, this SMTP Server requires authentication and click on Add.
In the From field, enter the email address that you prefer to send notifications or notifications from. Also, in the To section, write the email you want to receive Notifications.
As you know, in the world of computers, the phrase between% means variables. By knowing this, you can interpret the phrase specified in the Subject field and change it to your own. This field will be displayed in the Subject Email field.
The Notify on success option means notifications at the time of successful Job execution, the Notify on warning option when the notification is received and Notify on failure is the notion of a failure at the time of the failure.
Suppress notifications until the last retry also means that the last attempt to run Job is denied by sending the notification. This option is very useful for preventing fake notifications.
Finally, click Ok. If you wish, you can send an email as a test by clicking on the Test Message button to ensure that the E-mail Notifications settings work correctly.
