The VMware Horizon version 7.4 was released earlier this year, and VMware has now unveiled a new version of VMware Horizon: Version 7.6 has made a lot of progress that has been documented in the notes released, indicating that this year is really a real year for EUC and VDI. VMware has also released VMware User Environment Manager 9.5 and VMware AppVolumes 2.14.2.

Horizon 7 version 7.6 has the following features:

  • Supports vSphere 6.5 U2

  • Added new features to Horizon 7 on VMware Cloud in AWS

  • New features in: Horizon Client 4.9 For more information about the new features in Horizon Client, 
    including HTML Access 4.9, go to the Horizon Clients Documentation page.

  • New Horizon Cloud Connector: You can use the VMware Horizon 7 Cloud Connector to manage subscription privileges to a Cloud Hosted Cloud VMware Horizon Cloud Service. The sharing license, the need to maintain, retrieve, or enter a manually key eliminates the activation of the product.

  • A great new feature, including IPv6-compatible transport

  • Geo-redirects: When installing Horizon Agent on a virtual desktop or RDS, you can enable the Geolocation Redirection option to change geographic information from Windows clients to the virtual desktop, desktop, or published programs. This feature also requires Horizon Client 4.9 for Windows.

  • Support for the new GPU: NVIDIA V100, P100 and AMD V340 graphics cards

  • Improve Skype for Business

  • Upgrade to Agent for VDI on Linux, including Instant-clone support for RHEL 7.1
